Okura Planting Plan

Young Kohekohe thriving in the rain

This plan is a resource to help residents design and carry out the landscaping within the subdivision. It was prepared for the Far North District Council (FNDC) as a requirement of the resource consent application.

Restoration plantings add to the local biodiversity, providing food sources for birds and other fauna and creating a peaceful and private place to live.

Owners are responsible for maintaining and developing the plantings on their own lots.

Residents have access to walkways in the Covenanted Valley, the Common Areas, and the Esplanade Strip. Through the Okura Residents Association, owners also manage these areas. This work is resourced by an annual levy of $1000 per Lot, and any voluntary contributions of time.

An outline of the strategy is available below. Details of suitable plants, planting methods and maintenance are given in the full document. To access the full original and its references, please contact us.
